Hollywood Bowl

This postcard is of the Hollywood Bowl which regularly host music concerts and as the text on the back says is:

“Nestled in the largest natural amphitheatre in the world [and has] hosted performances from the L.A. Philharmonic to the Beatles.”

Universal Studios

Universial Studios in LA is a theme park owned by Universial (obviously…).

According to the text on the back it is:

“Located between Hollywood and the San Francisco Valley, [and] is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Southern California.”

Disney Concert Hall

This postcard is of the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.

I remarked to the friend that sent this to me that it looks very like the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and they are in fact designed by the same architect – Canadian/American Frank Gehry.

Staples Center

The Staples Center is a multi sports indoor arena hosting both LA’s NBA teams – the Lakers and the Clippers – as well as LA’s NHL team the LA Kings.

Dodger Stadium

Another postcard of the Dodger Stadium.

Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium is home to LA’s main MLB team – the LA Dodgers – and is the third oldest baseball stadium in the league.

Rose Bowl

This postcard is of the Rose Bowl, LA’s main sports stadium.

It annually hosts the college (American) football bowl game and also hosted the 1994 World Cup final.

Los Angeles

When I went to the Basque Country I sent a friend of mine some postcards and in return she sent me some of Los Angeles.

This one shows the LA Coliseum which hosted the Olympic games in both 1932 and 1984.

It also hosted former NASL team the LA Aztecs.
